It is defined as embedded tooth or more scientifically the impacted teeth that are partially or completely in soft tissue or bone, which cannot take place in normal dentition due to various reasons. The most common impacted teeth are the third molars. In addition to the third molars, canine teeth, premolars, central and lateral incisor teeth may also remain as impacted teeth.
Because embedded teeth bring many problems, they constitute a special and important area in dental treatments.
 
Causes of third molars stayed impacted
 
They believe that people's jaw sizes have tendency to change and shrink due to a number of factors, such as the change in people's nutrition patterns and the continuation of the evolutionary process. * The possibility that the embedded tooth may create crowding about other teeth in the mouth,
* Creation and formation of lesions such as cysts and tumors around the embedded tooth,
* Need for tooth extraction for orthodontic treatment (wire treatment),
* In patients who are fully toothless and who will use removable dentures, the need for the extraction of the embedded tooth for the construction of the denture teeth, in the case of the buried tooth is required.
